Sharing by Andrew Burns Colwill
I'm delighted that one of the limited editions of Andrew's 'Sharing' has found it's forever home today. Andy created this lovely painting for his 'Sketches' exhibition last year at Bocabar Bristol. On a lift back from the hanging of the show I did a few interview snippets with him (you may hear a squeak of the gear box in the background - just to add to the atmosphere!) I have found interviewing artists in cars is very helpful in getting them to talk about their work without thinking too much about being interviewed.
Moving forwards and backwards
Sharing the sketch moved forward to one of Andrew's final pieces for the exhibition 'Integration'.
Integration by Andrew Burns Colwill
You can see the above painting took it's reference from 'Communication' - which was the original sketch for 'Sharing' and also in the background you will see the embracing figures from 'Harmomy'.
Also in his 'Communication' sketch you will find Andrew's description of his "OOUs" - Out of Uniform. These are the figurs he sees in his mind's eye when he meets people - quite a fascinating insight into the ethereal elements of this artist's mind.

Harmony by Andrew Burns Colwill
And here is what he had to say about 'Harmony'. And so we see how these themes interweave seamlessly - Communication informs Sharing, Sharing combined with Harmony creates Integration.
I've produced these lovely postcards which are on special offer for Augst of just 50p each during August 2019
Usual price
10 post cards for £7.50
I also did a few more interviews with Andrew about the show.
He is also one of the artists I've interviewed most.
