Mr Snuggles is Straight Outta Collompton II
New Show by Julian Quaye - MR SNUGGLES AND FRIENDS
Date for your diary - Meet the artist Wednesday 8th January 5-7pm
But you don't have to wait that long to meet Mr Snuggles and his friends as the exhibition opens today along with the amazing new Bocabar at Finzels Reach in Bristol. It is a stunning new venue and I want to say a huge thanks to Mel and Paul Eavis for inviting us to be their first exhibition. The industrial yet cosy venue is the perfect backdrop for his work (and the food is pretty fab too!).
We have just got the show hung this week. Thank you to art broker Karen Van Hoey Smith who insisted on calling herself my 'lackie' as she advised on, and arranged the hanging system and gave invaluable advice on the hanging of the show.
The plans for this exhibition are to tell the interweaving stories of the characters in the paintings so expect video snippets and stories coming your way on this blog.
But first let me introduce you to Winnie and Winnie the muse....
Winnie with his portrait and his favourite toy. Winnie is a Bristol pooch who commissioned Mr Quaye to style him with Bristol icons the Suspension Bridge and Christ Church in Clifton where his owners got married.
Winnie by Julian Quaye - at Finzels there is a lovely canvas print in hand finished frame by Julian (limited edition of 7), but I also have signed unframes prints in A2, A3 and A4 available.
