Animator turned artist, Bristol born J.West credits his switch to impatience with computers and his time working in Bristol Zoo gardens, which introduced a love for endangered and exotic animals. The vibrant patterns and colours enticed him to pick up a paintbrush and begin to replicate his newfound creative inspiration onto canvases and walls.

Influenced by impressionism, street art and David Attenborough re-runs, his technique has evolved into a distinctive bold pixelated style, which has been described by many as a joyous captivating acrylic mess.
